Nikon d5200 and 55-200mm deal save $440

I bought the Nikon D5200 bundle right before a family vacation and am I glad I did! I had been using a D100, which I loved, but one of the kids had gotten ahold of it and broken it. The upgrade was definitely worth it and the bundle is great for vacations. The protective bag really came in hand for portability and the Wi-Fi adapter is great for downloading pictures at the end of the day.

We did a lot of different activities on our trip, from rock climbing to horseback riding and the camera kept us with everything. The high speed shooting works for action shots, like my daughter's first ride. We got great shots in every light, and even the pictures I took around the evening campfires came out perfect. The lenses, angles, and built in effects were great for adding artistic touches.

The versatility of this camera bundle let everybody have a chance to bring out their inner photographer. My husband could take landscape shots, I took lots of action shots of the kids, my daughters took beauty shots of each other, and my son insisted on taking close ups of any creepy crawly we came across.

My husband is the camera expert in the family and gave me some technical details to include in my review. He says that the Nikon D5200 is the best APS-C in its class. It has a solidly built mid-level body and better light sensitivity in high ISO situations than Sony's A65 and A77. The D5200 borrows technology from the bulkier D7000 and presents 39 AF points including 9 cross-type AF points for accuracy and precision. The D5200 boasts a 50% increase in megapixels, while still improving the ISO performance.

From my amateur photographer point of view, it is a rugged camera that you can count on to take a great picture in just about any circumstances.

Bottom line, great performance from the camera and great value in the bundle. The Nikon D5200 bundle totally nails it!
